What a great day to go for a walk!
And that’s what we did today as part of UOI we looked for birds and bird nest!
Students began the day rehearsing in the Gym for the French Café. Then we had our morning circle time and healthy snacks, Cherin did an excellent job in Show and Tell!
After that students had Gym class with Ms. Lopez. When they came back to class we read books and had lunch.
In the afternoon we had Language Arts. Today they completed a worksheet where they practiced reading and spelling the following words: bib, bus, gas, gap, dog, Dad, cup, cat, ham, hen, pan, pin. On back of the same page they practiced reading rug, lug, nip, pad and mitt.
Students understand the difference between spelling and reading short words when: (1) I ask them to read a word and they will say the sound of each letter preserving its own phoneme (2) I ask them to spell the word they will say the name of each letter. That’s the beginning of our practice for the Spelling Bee taking place in June.
In Math we completed an activity where they had to draw the correct amount to match each numeral.
In our UOI we made chicken masks.
Have a great evening everyone!
