Happy Tuesday!

JKs have been working hard rehearsing for the French Cafe!
Just a reminder that everyone is welcome to come. A light lunch will be served @12 and performances will start @1pm. Please RSVP with Mrs. Brasil before May 3rd.
In Language Arts today we look into long vowel sounds in words like: cake, rain, leaf, seal, fire, pie, rose, soap, mule, tube.
Next, students practiced reading the following blends: bu, ra, ba, hu, so and se.
For short words today students practiced reading the following: Jill, bib, Tim, cap, egg, ten, rag, nip, bug, Sam and tot. They also completed a page where they had to look at each picture and circle the letter they could hear at the beginning of each word.
In Math we continue with our Number Application Unit and today students were encouraged to represent numbers 1-20 using Math counters.
In our UOI we talked about jellyfish, students watched a video about jellyfish ( http://youtu.be/pimIbTqJLZc ) and made a jellyfish craft. They were encouraged to use 10 strips of tissue paper. That way they could also use their math skills to complete this activity.
To finish off the day stududents had the choice of manipulating blocks, sorting sets and making crafts.
Have a great evening everyone and remember tomorrow is casual day!
