Happy Thursday!

Today we began the day with our Poem Presentations in the Gym. Excellent job Samaira, Vishva and Karina!
Students then came in class and we had snacks and morning circle time.
We got all ready to wait for the firetruck but they couldn't come as they were on duty. The firetruck will come next week. As inquirers we tried to think of questions that we want ask the firefighters...Vishva came up with a good one: "Why do they wear costumes?"
In Language Arts students completed a worksheet where they had to look at the picture and circle the correct beginning sound.
In Math students completed a Pattern activity where they could practice their fine motor skills by cutting the pictures along on the lines (see pictures).
Today students attended Drama, Gym and French classes.
Have a great evening and remember tomorrow is Pattern Day!

Cute conversation...

Cute conversation on the carpet today (while playing with blocks):
Elina: “Aww, that’s a cool tower boys!”
Jaiden Karia: “Well, we are boys, so we make cool stuff!”
Elina: “And we are pretty, so we are making something pretty!”

Slushy Wednesday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we completed a worksheet where students had to say the name of the picture and circle the correct beginning blend. In our second worksheet students had to look at the picture say the name and circle the correct word.
Good job Braydon and Jaiden Karia, they were the first ones to finish and with no help at all!
In Math students created patterns using one to one correspondence. One-to-one correspondence teaches children to simultaneously touch, move and point to objects as they count and collect items.
Once they were done creating their patterns, they were instructed to color in the squares using the correspondent colors.
In our Unit of Inquiry, we reviewed road safety signs and students created roads using traffic lights, stop signs, pedestrian crossing signs, etc...
After they were done they got to ride cars on the roads.
Today Students attended French, Music and Gym classes.
Have a great evening everyone!
