We had a great day!
We began the day with morning circle time (special helper, calendar, songs, story, weather and 100th day tree) and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of letter "Ii" and students were introduced to a new animal friend that starts with the letter "Uu". Umbrella Bird is our animal friend this week and it help students to remember the beginning sound of "Uu" in words like umbrella, upside down, under, up and uncle.
Students completed a worksheet where they had to trace upper and lower case "Uu".
After that students completed a readiness skill activity where they had to color a school bus and get their little ears used to the sound of "Uu"in BUS.
Students attended Phys. Ed. with Mr. R., when they came back to class we read a nice book tittled: "If you take a mouse to school".
In the afternoon we started our new Math unit on Data Management. Today we played a game where students helped me identifying objects in a box, that were the same using one attribute (color, size or shape).
After that students started their journals. Everyday they will be encouraged to "write" and draw about a topic. Today the topic was about their favorite activity to do in school.
Next, students started "All About Me" booklet. They were encouraged to complete their faces by drawing as much details as possible.
Students then attended French class with Miss. H. (we now have French in the afternoon).
To finish off the day we played sorting games and read a book tittled: "Biscuit Goes to School".
Have a great evening everyone!
