Dear Parents,
Your child is taking a poem home. We will be practcing in school but your support is greatly appreciated.
Please, practiced with your child and feel free to combine the poem with actions.

Cold Thursday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.

In Language Arts students practiced writing upper and lower case “J”. They also were instructed to circle the pictures that begin with “Jj”.

In Math students practiced their numeracy skills by completing an activity where they had to count the correct amount of objects and then write the number correspondent.

Students wrote in their journals and participated in reading groups.

Today students attended French, Gym and Drama classes.

Today in Language Arts we spent some time completing a writing assessment.
In Math, students practiced counting items by 10's (1-100). They also manipulated sorting items and counted them.
Students today attended Gym, Music and French classes.

Happy Tuesday!

Today we start off the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we reviewed sound and formation of J.
Students then created a Jar of Jellybeans.
In Math we reviewed basic shapes and students were encouraged to make shapes out of playdough.
Students participated in reading groups, attended French, Drama and Gym classes.
For our Journals today, we had a discussion of how we can show kindness to each other.
To finish off the day we played with blocks and sorting sets.

Awesome day to play in the snow, not for driving though!
Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we met a new friend: Jenny Jaguar. Students learned a little bit about Jaguars.
After singing our phonics song, students completed a worksheet where they had to trace and write upper and lower case "Jj". They also had to circle the pictures that begin with J.
In Math we continue with our Geometry Unit. Today we went on a "Shape Walk" around the classroom. Every time students found a shape (circle, square, triangle and rectangle) they had to entry their info in a form of a bar graph. Everyone had a lot of fun!
After that, students received a paper with shapes to color and cut. Once done, they were instructed to play matching game with a friend. Everyone was caring (by taking turns) and very participative.
To finish off the day we played sorting games and puzzles.

Dear Parents,

Today we had a day filled with fun activities...reading buddies, Show & Tell, Art class and students used geoboards. And yes, I did take lots of pictures today :)
