What a cold day today!
Today we start off the day with a house game in the Gym. Students then, came in class and we had our morning routine and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts students completed a worksheet similar to the one we completed yesterday. They had to say the name of each picture and circle the letter that makes the beginning sound. Students also completed another Language worksheet where they also had to say the name of each picture and write the letter that makes the beginning sound.
In Math students completed a page where they circled the correct number of objects.
Today we also had the Show and Tell, everyone did really well.
To finish off the day we played with puzzles, sorting sets, lacing cards and we had the prize box!

Happy Thursday!!!!
Today we had a very productive day!
We began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we completed two worksheets where students had to look at the picture, hear the beginning sound and circle the correct beginning letter.
In Math students practiced their numeracy skills by completing two worksheets where they had to count the objects and circle the correct amount.
Today we also practiced cutting skills, students colored and cut flowers.
Students attended French, Drama and Gym classes today.

Happy Monday!
Today we start off the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of "Cc" and students practiced writing letters on dry erase books.
In Math we practiced writing numbers 1-5 and students practiced sorting using math counters.
In our UOI we read a different version of the "Gingerbread Man" book and students completed a page where they had to retell the story trough drawing.
Students attended Music, French and Gym classes. Today we played soccer, everyone had a lot of fun!
This week we have been reading books about how to be nice and gentle to each other. Here at St. Jude's we strongly encourage students to use kind words and keep their hands to themselves.
In my class I always give students warnings before taking any further measures. Please be assured that your child will always have the chance to make a better choice. If your child does not cooperate and listen, he/she and I will have a discussion about his/her choices. The next step would be a timeout to think about his/her actions. If these steps are unsuccessful, your child will be referred to the principal. You will be kept informed at all times about your child's progress.

Happy Tuesday!
Today we began the day with morning circle time and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we practiced our phonics song and tried to make a list of words that begin with C.
Students then completed a worksheet where they traced and wrote upper and lower case "Cc". We also reviewed name, sound and formation of "Ss".
In Math we completed a worksheet similar to one from yesterday, but today for numbers 10-20. Students then represented each number with math counters.
Today students attended Drama, Gym and French classes.
To finish off the day we reviewed a little bit of our "Data Management" unit. Students were encouraged to sort out lego blocks by size and color.

In Language Arts, students were introduced to our new animal friend "Connie Cow". They also learned name, sound and formation of "Cc". Students then completed a worksheet where they traced upper and lower case "Cc" and practiced the following blends: ca/ce/ci/co/cu.
In Math students completed a worksheet where they traced and wrote numbers 1-10. They also represented each number using math counters.
Today we spent some time organizing students portfolios.
Students attended Gym, French and Music classes.
To finish off the day we practiced our Christmas song and read a nice story book.

Happy Friday!
Today we began the day with morning routine and healthy snacks.
In Art class we used brown paint to make our Brown Bear hand print. Take a look in our class.
In Math students practiced counting 1-20, tracing and writing numbers 19 and 20.
In Language Arts, students participated in reading buddies and we made letter S using playdough.
Today we also played a game in the Gym where we raced each other, but the trick was to pretend to be the animals from the Brown Bear book.
After lunch we had Show and Tell and finish the day with sorting sets, matching games and puzzles.

Sunny Day!
We love sunny days!!!
Today we began the day with morning circle and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of "Ss" and practised sounding out the blends sa/se/si/so/su.
In Math students manipulated sorting sets and finished some numeracy worksheets. In our UOI students finished their Brown Bear book.
Today we also enjoyed the nice weather. We played tag outside hopscotch.
Students attended French class today.

In our UOI we talked about our Brown Bear book and completed an activity where students had to match the book character with the real animal.
In the morning students had the opportunity to watch the dress rehearsal for the play tonight. They all behaved really well! Way to go JKs!
To finish our day we practiced our Christmas song and read a story.

Dear Parents,
What a fun day!
We had our morning routine with calendar, weather, 100th Day Tree, story time and songs.
In Language Arts we reviewed name, sound and formation of "Ss".Students then completed a worksheet where they had to trace and write upper and lower case "Ss" . They also had to circle the pictures that begin with the "Ss" sound.
In our UOI we completed a couple of more pages for our "Brown Bear" book.
Students then had lunch earlier than usual and we head off to our field trip to the Living Arts Centre.
The play was really fun and well done!
Students could review the books that we have been reading in class.
When we returned, students were encouraged to draw their favourite part of the play.

Good Afternoon!
Today we began the day with our morning routine and healthy snacks.
In Language Arts, students met our new animal friend of the week: Seabreeze Seal. Our letter is "Ss" for this week. We practiced our phonics song and made a list of words that begin with S sound. Students then traced upper and lower case "Ss". We also practiced sound out the blends su, si, sa.
In Math, students completed a a couple of worksheets for number 15. We talked about what comes before and after 15 and we used counters to count to 15.
In our UOI we read the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. Students then started their own Brown Bear booklet. We will be working on the booklet tomorrow as well.
Today we also practiced our songs and students attended French, Music and Gym classes.

In Math students completed a number sense page, where they practiced their counting skills and represented numbers by drawing the correct amount of objects.
Students also spent some time today completing their reflection for the Report Cards. Report Cards will be sent home at the end of the month (Nov. 30th).
Students attended Gym class today and participated in reading buddies.
To finish off the day we watched a 5 minute video from Crawford the Cat and today Crawford taught us to share!

Good Afternoon!
Today we had a fun day!
In the morning we had our circle time and healthy snacks.
After that, a very special guest (Mrs. Sachania) came in our class to tell the Diwali story. We made a firework craft and lighten up sparklers outside.
In Language Arts we reviewed the sound of H and made houses out of pre cut construction paper. Students also practised their penmanship skills by tracing and writing on dry erase alphabet cards.
Students wrote in their journals today and attended Gym and French classes.
There is no Drama this week as Mrs. Henein is rehearsing with upper grades.
To finish off the day we played games and practised our Christmas song.
