Students are getting used to the routine, class rules and different teachers (Drama, French and Phys. Ed.).
In the morning after singing "Oh Canada" in the Gym, we had our morning circle time (songs, calendar, weather, 100th day tree and story time).
In Language Arts students reviewed name, sound and formation of "Ii". They also completed a worksheet where they had to trace upper and lower case Ii. Next students made a collage of an igloo house, to help them to remember that "Ii says ĭ for igloo".
I explained to them what an igloo house is and they had so much fun gluing white tissue paper and glitter on it.
Students then attended Phys. Ed. with Mr. R. Today Ms. H. was away, so they didn't have French. After lunch, in our Math Makes Sense we talked about patterns, we went for a walk in our classroom trying to find patterns. Students then had the opportunity to create patterns using lego. We will have a Math unit on patterns, but this week I am just trying to find out what they already know.
Today students had their first Drama class with Mrs. Heinen, they all were very happy when I picked them up. In our Unit of Inquiry we talked about our physical characteristics and played head, shoulder, knees and toes. To finish off the day we head out to the Gym and participated in a house game.
Have a great evening everyone!
