We had another great day!
In the morning we had our calendar routine, story time and healthy snacks.
Next in Language Arts students were introduced to our animal friend Inchworm. Students also learned name, sound and formation of letter "Ii".
Students attended French class with Ms. H. and Gym class with Mr. Rojas.
After that we read a nice story from Curious George about his first day of school.
Students then had lunch and head out outside for recess.
After that we had Math class, where we played a game called: "Can you find?"
In this game students were encouraged to observe pictures of 2 scenarios and tell the class, with details, what they noticed in the pictures. This week our Math Makes Sense is more like giving opportunities to find out about children's previous experiences and understanding. Next week we will start a new unit on Data Management, more details will be sent home on Friday.
In our Unit of Inquiry we talked about our features and how unique each of us is . Students completed a self portrait, using googly eyes and fake hair.
After that we talked about rules that we could have in our classroom in order to have a fun and exciting year. I really liked how everyone participated, here are some of the rules that we agreed on:
- Raise our hands to talk
- Take turns on talking
- Work hard
- Keep our belongings in our cubby
- Share and be polite to each other
To finish off the day JKs had the choice of puzzles, lego, drawing or sorting sets.
Have a great evening everyone!
