Happy Monday!

Hello Dear Parents,
JKs had a fun day today!
We began the day with our morning routine (calendar, weather, 100th day tree, songs and story time - "When I Am Feelling Sad" by Trace Moroney).
As part of our morning circle, students are now participating in our Sharing Time. Sharing time is when students have a buddy to share an information, on Mondays it is usually about what they did on the weekend. Everyday there is a different topic to discuss. After 3 minutes of conversation I chose two students to tell to the rest of the class what his/her buddy shared. This activity allows students to develop listening skills as well as communication skills.
In Language Arts students were introduced to a new animal friend: Oscar Otter. Today we learned a little bit about Otters, what they like to eat, where they live, their favourite thing to do, etc...
Students then practised writing upper/lower case "Oo".
In our Unit of Inquiry we talked about what our bodies can do and different activities we enjoy doing it. Students completed one more page for our "All About Me" booklet where they had to circle their favorite activity and cross the ones they don't enjoy doing it.
In Math we continue to work on simple graphs. Today students had 2 colors of snap cubes, they were asked to show how many snap cubes they had of each color and put on a graph.
Today we read the following books in class: " When I am Feeling Kind" by Trace Moroney and "Just Me And My Mom" by Mercer Mayer. We had a very nice discussion about the last book. Each student shared what they most like to do with their mom. Here are the answers:
Sarah - "I like to cook with my mom!"
Kasen - "I like to play."
Elina - "I like to walk to the park."
Braydon - "I like to cook."
Karina - "I like to eat cookies!"
Jayden Klotia - "I like to go to the water park with my mom."
Hayden - "I like to go to picnics with mommy."
Vishva - "I like to cook!"
Josef - "I like to take taxi rides with my mom."
Jaiden Melino - "I like making pizza with mommy!"
Marcus - "I like to clean up my toys and eat chocolate chip cookies!"
Bosco - "I like to go to the park!"
Krina - "I like to ride my bike with my mom."
Jaiden Karia - "I like to ride my bike with my mom and brother."
Enjoy your evening everyone!
